Angie
My name is Angie Smith, I'm originally from the great plains of Nebraka, I landed at Hollins University in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia for college, and somehow I ended up falling in love with the Hudson Valley. I'm a fan of random acts of kindness, hugs, and creating art and sound. I think that love, respect, and honor are three really important things. I LOVE food, I like growing it, cooking it, and especially love eating it! My favorites: dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream...oh yeah I love vegetables of all shapes, sizes, and colors. On the snuggle front, I like blankets and books and a good movie sometimes. At camp, I'm generally the crafty lady with silly activity ideas and a goofy grin on my face. This year at camp I'm going to dash a little extra spice and somethin' real nice into the kitchen! I'm the lunch lady, come visit me down here in Lunch Lady Land!
David
My name is David and my favorite thing about camp is watching campers grow and change right in front of our eyes. Looking back on my teen years, having an environment that felt safe for self-expression would have done so much for me. I want to focus on helping campers embrace themselves as they are and to help develop their creativity and critical thinking. I have been a musician for 10 years playing music from jazz to reggae to rock. I play piano, guitar, ukulele, percussion, sing, and love to hike and travel. This summer I look forward to playing some Ultimate Frisbee, meditating by the lake, leading some classes on breathe work and body awareness, playing and teaching music, and being in nature.
Dustin
Dustin Albert was on the original staff of counselors for OTC and has returned every summer since, save one, a mistake he hopes not to repeat any time soon. He embraces whatever role allows him to drive the golf cart, especially camper-herding with the aid of the bullhorn siren. His proudest camp moment came when he hijacked the first camp film project and tricked the campers into helping him realize his unfulfilled directorial ambitions, resulting in the classic suspense thriller, "Where's Georgio?" When he's not at camp, Dustin masquerades as an aspiring academic at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he is pursuing a PhD in adolescent developmental psychology. He is currently obsessed with understanding brain functioning. He lives with his lovely wife, Leya, a chubby white cat named Mortimer, and a neurotic orange cat named Motown.
Leya
Leya Williams-Albert, OTC's Program Director is an Artist and ABA Therapist living and working in Philadelphia. Some of her favorite things include: sewing; making carrot cake cupcakes; taking daily photos; riding her bike; and practicing yoga. She has been a part of our staff since camp started six years ago and loves pretty much everything about OTC, especially the impromptu dance parties, creating art alongside campers and staff at the art hut, and playing a raucous game of water basketball. But most of all, she loves the openness and creativity found within our camp community. If there was a way to live at camp year round, Leya would be all for it.
Molly
Molly Sullivan was born and raised in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut where she spent most of her childhood building treehouses, playing sports, and making believe. To many people's surprise, she once was homecoming queen, vice president of her class, and captain of the soccer team. Molly also had her own show on public access television called "Talkin' with Molly". As it came time for college, Molly left her small town existence and headed for the big city of Philadelphia to attend The University of the Arts where she majored in Screenwriting. She was hired out of college by Banyan Productions and worked on the TLC show "Perfect Proposal". When the show was cancelled, Molly scratched her head, and thought, "I'd really like to work with kids!" Enter: Omega Teen Camp! This will be Molly's 4th year with Omega Teen Camp. She has enjoyed some of her most treasured moments being a part of this magical community. Molly now lives in Portland Maine, where she works with preschoolers on the autistic spectrum and is a children's entertainer on the weekends for a program called "Mad Science." She looks forward to another fantastic, better than ever, summer.
Nancy
Hello everyone, I'm Nancy Chernoff, known to campers as either "the office lady" or "the fire walking lady." I'm so grateful to be coming back as part of the Omega team for my 4th season. Where in the world can you get to live out your passion and dreams as a Personal Growth Empowerment Coach and at the same time get to spend the season with Adam Simon, it couldn't get better!
Jay
Hi, I'm Jay. I'm the head boys counselor at camp, and I also help plan the program of activities before camp starts. 2008 will be my third year at Omega Teen Camp. What I love best about camp is unplugging from the world and spending four weeks getting creative and healthy in the outdoors with campers and my fellow counselors. I'm a writer, musician, and a video documentarian. I like to travel, build treehouses, ride bikes, do yoga, and play pinball. Look for Jay to be President of the US sometime soon.
Adam
Adam is the best director Omega Teen Camp has ever had. About seven years ago Adam had the idea that it would be great fun to spend the summer with 275 teenagers. Some of Adam’s favorite things to do at camp include throwing the football, hanging out with the younger guys, beating Lauren in badminton, watching 300 people wearing the camp’s new T-Shirts, and trying to sneak out to the local deli for a sandwich at lunch. Adam thinks that 2008 will be the most wonderful summer at camp yet thanks to the new cotton candy and snow cone machines he is buying.
Rebecca
Hello everyone. I'm a dreamer who hails from smalltown Michigan, but I've been adventuring and studying in Seattle for the past two years. I graduate in June with a degree in health psychology and spirituality from Bastyr University. This year will mark year three for me at Omega Teen Camp and I can't honestly think of a better job. I love doing yoga, dreamwork, dancing, talking about the world's religions, and having amazing Harry Potter discussion groups with the awesome folks that ramble the trails of Omega Teen Camp. Don't listen to Adam though, lovely ones. It's not the cotton candy machine that's going to make this the best summer yet. It's definately the 300 pounds of tofu and sauerkraut that we already have stored (and ripening) for us in Holmes.
